Campus Events/Lectures

  • "Gardening Demo - Vegetables from Seed - Ordering and Growing the Best." A demonstration will be given by the Pima County Cooperative Extension. It is held in the open and lasts an hour. The last part of the meeting uses samples of plants brought in for identification, diagnosis and treatment. 9 a.m. No charge. Extension Garden Center, 4210 N. Campbell Ave. An additional demonstration will be held at 1 p.m. in the Wilmot Library conference room, 530 N. Wilmot Road

  • "Culturally Competent Public Relations." Noon. Lecture held in the Student Union Memorial Center's Gallagher Theater

  • Resume writing workshop. Your resume is often the first thing an employer sees when you are applying for a job or internship. This workshop provides excellent information about how to write your professional resume. No sign-up required. 1 p.m. Student Union Memorial Center, Suite 411

  • "Graduate Writing Workshop." A talk by Dr. Victoria Stefani of the Writing Skills Improvement Program will discuss "Writing Your Way to a Focused Research Question." This lecture held every Wednesday is part of a free series of workshops. 4 p.m. Psychology building, Room 205

  • Photography Exhibition. The Center for Creative Photography's exhibition "Harry Callahan: The Photographer at Work" continues. Curator Britt Salvesen and archivist Amy Rule will give an overview of the CCP's Callahan Archive, discuss the photographer's working methods and materials. Harry Callahan was one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century and one of the CCP's first archives. Exhibition runs until May 7.

  • Entertainment

  • UA Faculty Women's Club Luncheon - This luncheon and program features the mystery writer J.A. Jance, who will speak on "A Writer's Life." Faculty Women's Club Life Members will be honored. 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Skyline Country Club, St. Andrew's Drive.

  • Poker lessons and tournament in the Games Room. Come learn before you compete! Lessons at 5 p.m. are free. Tournament begins at 6 p.m. and costs $5. SUMC, Wilbur's Underground, Games Room
