Prop 100 is a no-win proposal
One of the most important propositions facing us in next month's election hasn't received much attention lately, what with all the light-rail plans and immigrant discrimination issues to face. However, Proposition 100 is likely just as important as the other propositions, requiring just as much scrutiny.
Here in Arizona, we've got a lot of public land. State trust land across the state is leased to ranchers and auctioned off to developers to provide for some much needed education funding. This is fine; but as this land is sold off to developers, our open space and other important ecological areas can be quickly and adversely affected.

Real test for candidates will be final debate in Tempe
Friday's presidential debate at Washington University in St. Louis was a prime opportunity for President Bush to make up for the bumbling and lackluster performance he gave during the kick-off debate.
Realizing that he had to redeem himself in the eyes of voters Friday, Bush showed up more prepared and articulate.
The town hall meeting format worked to his advantage, giving Bush the chance to demonstrate his strongest suit, his ability to appeal to his constituents as an average American. By capitalizing on his charisma and basic likeability, Bush recouped his campaign and has recovered much in terms of his public image.

Coulter's visit upsets ASUA's political balance
I disagree that ASUA was "without any plan to provide an equal and balanced opposition," as Jeff Steinkamp put it in Friday's Wildcat. If anyone has been paying attention, then anyone could see the David Hardy banner on the Mall right next to the Michael Moore banner. Furthermore, the opportunity to see David Hardy, which has already come and gone, was free. Therefore, it was actually much more available, with the only difference being a $5 price tag.
