Campus organization helps students tackle the great outdoors

Some students think fighting to add classes during the first week of school is the UA campus' greatest source of adventure.

Others prefer a more traditional route.

Now operating in its 15th year at the Student Recreation Center, Outdoor Adventures, the offspring of Campus Rec and Campus Health, Life, and Wellness is offering its paddles, belts and hiking boots to UA staff and students for its fall season. [Read article]

Slice of Bacon: 20/20 view for Arizona students

As the summer air cools and the fall leaf (yes, that is singular) of the Arizona desert hits the desolate rocky earth, there is one sure thing we have to look forward to: watching the Wildcat football team in plain view.

Arizona Stadium has one of the best student sections in the nation and it almost seems Sun Devilish not to fill it up every Saturday night.

The seating is FAN-tastic!

You have the ability to watch touchdown after touchdown being scored (sure, right now it's usually opponents dancing in the end zone, but work with me here) without having to rubberneck around the alumni's gray heads. [Read article]

Officials hope to sell 10,000 'Zoo' passes

Coming off the worst season in the UA football program's history, it surely seems logical that the UA would be looking to reach the all-time student season ticket sale record.

Right?

It's true. The athletics department hopes to sell 10,000 Zona Zoo passes - which give students admission into football games as part of the $40 package price - after selling about 7,500 last year and just 2,500 season tickets in 2002. The school record of about 10,000 came in 1994 when the Wildcats were Sports Illustrated's preseason No. 1 pick, coming off a 29-0 win over Miami in the Fiesta Bowl earlier that year. [Read article]
