Several faculty members criticized UA administrators for lack of notice regarding the 2 percent across-the-board budget cuts during yesterday's Faculty Senate meeting.
The Committee of Eleven, a group of elected faculty members, released a three-page report in July 2004 outlining its concerns about the budget cuts.
The Committee of Eleven speaks for the general faculty and its main purpose is to look at problems concerning the faculty and the university.

What not to base your vote on
It's Tuesday, November 2, 2004. Finally. For the past nine months we have dreaded, rationalized, and otherwise prepared ourselves for the upcoming election.
And now it is time to cast our vote.
However, today, before we stand in the polling booth and make our final decisions concerning everything from the President to the local dog catcher, let us consider a few things - like how to vote rationally.
Back in the '90s, I remember people declaring that they had voted for Bill Clinton because he was young, suave, but, most of all, one hot sexy beast.

Cross Country's Mohamed Trafeh and Chris Ogle run to a different beat
Mohamed Trafeh stands near the office door of UA cross country head coach James Li, his back slightly hunched and covered by an Arizona windbreaker.
He returns a handshake with a smile and a quick embrace and heads through a McKale Center hallway. He turns and stops before a ramp.
"Five minutes," Li says, as he locks his office and walks to the exit.
Trafeh slides a hand over a nearby rail. On the court below, the men's basketball team runs through a scrimmage. Trafeh smiles again. The scene is not new to him, just relieving.
