Women's Hoops: UA upends UTEP at home
Cats push home win streak to 30
The No. 24 Arizona women's basketball team scored the first 11 points in its game against UTEP last night in McKale Center and never looked back, defeating the Miners 79-47. With the win, Arizona improved to 4-1 on the early season and recorded its 30th consecutive home win.
"We want to make this one of the worst places to come and play in the country," said senior point guard Dee-Dee Wheeler. "We have a great team and we love playing at home. Teams are going to be out to basically break that streak."

Men's Hoops: Cats back home to face Cowboys
It was only fitting that the No. 21 Arizona men's basketball team had to make a pit stop in Albuquerque, N.M., following the team's NIT championship loss to Wake Forest in New York.
With the Wildcats (3-2) returning home to McKale Center for a non-conference matchup with Wyoming today at 7 p.m., the team's plane had to refuel on its trip back to Tucson over the weekend because of strong head winds in the same locale as the two teams' last meeting - a hard-fought 68-60 UA win in the second round of the 2002 NCAA tournament.

DB Brooks earns All-Pac-10 nod
UA co-captain and junior free safety Darrell Brooks capped off a stellar junior campaign earning second-team All-Pac-10 honors, the Pacific 10 Conference announced yesterday.
Brooks, of Moreno Valley, Calif., was the only Wildcat football player named to the first or second team, but UA senior tight end Steve Fleming, senior center Keoki Fraser, junior running back Mike Bell, sophomore wide receiver Syndric Steptoe and freshman cornerback Antoine Cason each earned honorable mention recognition for their efforts.
