The waiting game
Senior Phillips can't wait to hit field, but he's going to have to
Brandon Phillips has battled in the trenches for four different head coaches and played alongside six starting quarterbacks.
He's seen a pair of 1,000-yard rushers come through the UA program, and will likely pave the way for another this year.
He's been on one team ranked in the top five, another in the top 25 and yet another not even ranked in the top 105.

Volleyball starts play tonight at San Diego
Although the Arizona volleyball team is on the road for today's season opener against San Diego State University, it will be a homecoming of sorts for many of the Wildcats - nine of the 17 Arizona athletes hail from California.
Arizona's veteran lineup hopes to take advantage of the rookie SDSU starters at 7 p.m. at San Diego State's Peterson Gym.
The Wildcats return all six starters and the libero from their 2003 team, while the Aztecs bring back one starter and three letterwinners from last season.

Athlete of the week: Damwijk keeps eyes on the prize
After playing three years on the UA club soccer team, senior forward Kamaya Damwijk walked on to the NCAA team this season, where she is already making an impact. Damwijk, of Poway, Calif., started both games in the Cyclone Classic over the weekend in Ames, Iowa, and finished the weekend with one goal and one assist in the Wildcats' two victories.
