- The Arizona State Museum presents the Southwest Textile Show and Sale Saturday in the Arizona State Museum Gallery 101.
The show features the history of Indian trade blankets in the Southwest.
A lecture on "Regional Designs and Styles in Navajo Weaving" is taking place at 1 p.m.
Another lecture will be presented at 3 p.m. discussing Pendleton Blanket design.
Sunday at 1 p.m. Laurie Webster, curator at the ASM, will speak on "Threads of Time: Pueblo Navajo and Rio Grande Weaving Traditions," in the Center for English as a Second Language auditorium.
- The Slonaker Concert Series presents a brown bag music event featuring student artists from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the Slonaker House.
The event is free and people are encouraged to bring their lunch.
- The School of Music and Dance presents a cello area recital in the Holsclaw Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.
Music students will perform pieces by Haydn, Offenbac and Beethoven. Admission is free.
- The School of Music and Dance presents Holiday Festival of Music, the largest choral event of the year, Sunday at Peter and Paul Catholic Church 1436 N. Campbell Ave. at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
More than 230 singers from the UA will participate.
Fact of the Day According to a poll done by USA SNAPSHOPS 52 percent of adults said their favorite character of the Three Stooges was Curly. Moe pulled in 31 percent of the votes and Larry gathered 12 percent of the votes.
