By Staff Reports Arizona Daily Wildcat February 18, 1997 UA volleyball 2nd in tourneyThe men's club volleyball team couldn't maintain the momentum from Saturday's second place finish in the Desert Thunder Tournamenty, losing Sunday to Utah Valley State College in five games.The Wildcats played without starting setter Mike Pabst against UVSC and gave away an early lead in the 15-11, 15-12, 11-15, 12-15, 16-18 final. "It took them five games to beat us without our starting line-up," said assistant coach Skip Greenberg on the Western States Conference opponent. "So we took it as a mental victory. We play each other again and they know we are going to be me much better." In the tournament, the Wildcats only lost four games in their nine matches. Two came in the championship match to Long Beach Community College (8-15, 15-13, 15-17). "I couldn't of asked for better play fromour guys over the weekend," said Greenberg who was in charge while head coach Corey Morishita was out of town. "With the competitiveness of the team involved, it really shows that we are moving up in the country."
