UA track teams return with three first-place finishes

Despite the fact that the whole team didn't go, Arizona's men's and women's track squads captured three first and five second place finishes at the Northern Arizona Invitational over the weekend.

Tyson Lingenfelter was first in the shot-put with a distance of 59-feet, 2-inches and Dameon Ortiz won in the 400-meter dash (47 seconds, 21-hundreths of a second).

Chima Ugwu finished second in the shot-put (58-9.5) and Dominic Johnson finished second in the men's pole vault (17-3/4 of an inch).

The women's lone first came from Colleen Rhemm's time of 25.71 in the 200m dash. Second place finishers for the women included Shanna Griffen in the 400m (56.99), Rori Kelly in the 55m hurdles (8.21) and Holly Montoya in the 25-pound weight throw (55-10.5).

The Wildcats now have the week off before travelling to the Mountain-Pacific Sports Federation Championships in Reno, Nev. on Feb. 21.
