Lindsey Humeny and Kari Ross, students from Rincon
and University high schools, carry signs that protest McDonald's animal
use and corporate practices, yesterday at the restaurant north of campus
on Speedway Boulevard. This was the first protest by a newly begun activist
group in Tucson called the Animal Rights Militant Young, A.R.M.Y. Jeremy
Dunbar (not pictured) of the group said the protest, held from about 4:30
p.m. until sundown, went well, although "the McDonald's people don't
want us here because they're scared of us." |
