The "Madhouse on Main Street" is what the UA club hockey team, the Icecats, call the Tucson Convention Center. With the core of last season's No. 5-ranked team returning, the Icecats will be ready for a run at the national championship.

The only key players not returning from last year's team are right wing Brian Meehan and defenseman Bob Majka. Icecats fans can look forward to seeing the No. 1 line of Mike Graves, Paul Dorn and Marc Harris back for another year. Last season, that line combined to score 92 goals.

On defense, senior co-captain Ty Brush, as well as seniors Joe McCaffrey and Kevin Baskel, are expected to solidify the defensive end of the ice and make it tough for opponents to penetrate the goal.

Back in the net this season are seniors Mark Meister and Mike Tesi. Sophomore Jason Morgan could also see some playing time.

In addition to the return of most of the team, the Icecats are expecting a big boost in recruiting this season. The UA has four defensemen and four solid forwards joining the team this year.

"This recruiting class will make our team much deeper," said head coach Leo Golembiewski. "The depth should make our returning players work hard in the offseason."

With the talent they have assembled this season, Golembiewski and his Icecats are ready for a shot at their second national championship, something that has eluded them since 1985.
