The UA men's and women's track and field teams swept a five-way meet this weekend in their first indoor competition of the year.

The Wildcats notched wins over host Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Wyoming and Ohio State.

Pole vaulters Jeff Dutoit and Andrea Neary each earned NCAA provisional qualifying marks with their respective vaults. Sophomore sprinter Patrick Nduwimana won the men's 800-meters with a time of 1 minute, 48.87 seconds, which also was a provisional qualifying time. Two women sprinters, Brianna Glenn and Carolyn Jackson, also put up NCAA provisional qualifying times. Junior Chris Golston placed second in the 60m dash with a time of 6.74, which was good enough for a NCAA provisional qualifying time.

"It went very well, for our first meet of the year," UA head coach Dave Murray said. "I'm very happy with our team, it was a really good team performance." - Brian Wahlund
