To the editor,

Once again, I am writing to stand up for the American Way - the Capitalist Way. I am so sick and tired of every single anti-corporation do-gooder who thinks that this country would be better off without companies like Nike, Wal-Mart, Home Depot or Border's Books and Music.

Yes, Tom Collins you are absolutely right. Many of us live and die by the Dow Jones. Your article in Tuesday's Wildcat is so misguided that it makes me sick. To infer that shareholders are not investing for the good of themselves and the economy is ludicrous. I think you're forgetting that ANYONE can be a shareholder in any corporation. Why must the stock market be reserved for the elite class? What makes you think that this is true? Instead of complaining about how America is becoming "Los Anglicized," why don't you benefit yourself and the economy by taking it upon yourself to invest in companies? If you would rather sit back and dream of a communist state, then be my guest. But, I'm warning you that Corporate America is going to pass you by much like it has already passed many others.
