Candrea gets win No. 700 at Fiesta Bowl Tournament

Arizona's Chrissy Gil hit a two-run homer to highlight a three-run eighth inning Friday afternoon against South Carolina in the opener of the Fiesta Bowl Tournament in Phoenix, giving UA a 7-5 win and head coach Mike Candrea his 700th career victory.
The No. 2-ranked Wildcats (8-0) then forced the mercy rule upon Maryland Saturday, beating the Terrapins 11-0 in five innings behind a complete game from freshman pitcher Jennie Finch.
Arizona overcame No. 10 Massachusetts 2-1 earlier on Saturday.
