'Empires' article misguided

By Julia Theisen

To the Editor,

When I went to school in Germany our constitution said in its first chapter that our main goal is to unify Germany and to move the capital back to its original location. After we were reunified there was a vote and it was decided that it will be moved. That was way before Schroeder! He is just doing what the plan was before him.

Berlin was our capital and that is why it is important. You cannot compare it with moving the UA to Los Angeles, exept maybe the actual act of moving but not compare the cities.

I only was sad because it means Bonn will fall asleep. As you said there is not so much. But have you ever been there? It is a beautiful city and very attractive to live there.

Why do people always refer to Hitler when the Germans do something you don't understand. That is very ignorant. Look at Yugoslawia or Zaire or anywhere else in this world, even you beuatiful America has Neo-Nazis, more than we do. So don't throw these things in one bucket.
