The focus has returned.

The No. 25 Arizona men's tennis team swept the University of Texas-El Paso 7-0 at the Tucson Country Club on Saturday upping its overall record to 6-3.

After being swept themselves in their last two games by the Los Angeles schools, the Wildcats are back on track.

Playing together for the first time in doubles action, the UA team of Roland Kupka and Mike McKay defeated the Miners' (3-3) doubles team of Jose Lopez and Emmanuel Raux 8-2 to claim the doubles point for Arizona.

However the event of the day was No. 2 singles player, senior Chris Jenkins remaining undefeated in singles play (9-0) with his 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory over Ralph Scholten.

"It was a good win for me today. He had a powerful serve and good volleys, and I had to grind it out. I struggled early, but the big shots came in the last set and the crowd helped me concentrate," Jenkins said.

Jan Anderson won his first match for Arizona since returning from Israel where he played for Norway's Davis Cup team, defeating Rogelluo Puente 6-4, 6-3.

The No. 10 women's team defeated No. 18 Brigham Young 5-0 in consolation play at the USTA/ITA Women's National Indoor Team Tennis Championship in Madison, Wis. on Saturday.

No. 3 Stanford eliminated the UA (10-2) in the second round in a match that came down to the final doubles match. Stanford won 8-6 giving the Cardinal the 5-4 team victory.
