After dragging a child through a stadium crowd and attacking an officer, a drunk woman was arrested at the UA football game Saturday evening on suspicion of disorderly conduct and assault, reports stated.
A security guard alerted police that he saw the woman dragging a small girl through the crowd at Arizona Stadium, 540 N. Vine Ave. The security guard told police that the woman looked drunk.
Officers stopped the woman, Charlene Charls, 36, of the 4000 block of East Catalina Highway. They asked to see her and the child's tickets so officers could help them find their seats. Police smelled a strong odor of intoxicants on the woman's breath.
Charls did not show police her ticket, but did tell them that she was with the Cowboys' Pop-Warner football team. She also told officers that she felt that they were harassing her and that she had a relative who was a lawyer, reports stated.
Police asked her if she had been drinking and for some identification. Charls denied that she had drunk any alcohol and began yelling at the officer's face. She was so close to him that some of her saliva hit him in the face during the argument. After Charls refused to settle down and back up, the officer radioed for police assistance, reports stated.
Another officer arrived on scene and tried to calm Charls. He separated the woman and the officer and ushered the woman and child back to their seats.
The officer who originally confronted Charls turned around and began to walk in the opposite direction. When the woman noticed that he was leaving, she immediately turned around and ran toward the officer. She continued to yell in his face, insult him, and she attempt to push him, reports stated.
Police put Charls in handcuffs and began walking her to a police car. The woman was not compliant and began to fall to the ground and insult officers.
Charls was carried by officers to the car. The woman was very agitated and continued to insult police by calling the officer a "f--ker," a "bully," an "elitist" and a "little man," reports stated.
Charls was arrested on suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct. She was transported to Pima County Sheriff's Office.
University police cited and released a Tucson man early Saturday morning at a UA parking garage after he ignored road blocks and refused officers' commands, reports stated.
Officers were directing traffic westbound on East Fourth Street. Police had blocked off westbound traffic with two barricades.
Police observed Allen Katz, 39, of the 3300 block of South Myrtis Avenue, drive past the barricades.
Katz refused to obey officers' commands to back up and make a U-turn, reports stated. He stuck his head out the window and instructed the officers "to move out of the f--k out of the way," and asked them "why don't they do their jobs? They are university cops."
Police repeated their commands, but Katz continued to pull forward. Officers were unable to open the door but did reach into the vehicle through the window and shut off the ignition, reports stated.
When Katz was instructed to exit the vehicle, he said "Don't you f--king touch me," reports stated.
Katz told officers that he just wanted to get through the traffic and that he has hearing problems and is on medication, reports stated.
He was arrested and released on suspicion of failing to obey traffic officers. Due to his recent hearing problems and medications, officers forwarded their report to the Arizona Department of Transportation, Department of Motor Vehicles to review his driver license, reports stated.

Officers responded to Sky View Apartments, 1050 E. Eighth Street, after a resident assistant smelled burnt marijuana.
Police knocked on Eric Palmer's door after they noticed the odor coming from his room. Palmer, 20, a resident of Sky View Apartments, told them to "come in."
Palmer told police that he had been smoking marijuana with some friends about 25 minutes before they arrived. He showed officers 4.2 grams of a green leafy substance in a baggy and told them that it was his bag, reports stated.
Palmer allowed officers to search his room. Police found no contraband. He was diverted to the Dean of Students' diversion program.
