Love juicy gossip? Compulsively eavesdropping on other people's conversations? Chuck Hitner is just the person for you. Hitner is the featured faculty artist at the UA Museum of Art's "Equal Shots: Paintings Overheard." It is Hitner's response to random conversations he has overheard from Tucsonans since February of this year. Hitner's inclusion of words and phrases on the canvases offers the paintings a note-to-self touch that so many can relate to.

The collection is on display through Oct. 29 and is free.

Don't you love watching couples being all mushy with each other? And isn't it even better when they make out in front of you, wiping the drool off their faces when they're finished?

Mariana Cook thought so, too, when she captured famous couples - such as painters Elaine and Willem de Kooning, Federal Reserve Board Chair Alan Greenspan and television correspondent Andrea Mitchell. "Couples: Photographs" by Mariana Cook is on display at the Center for Creative Photography through Nov. 26, so take a lunch break and head over to the center to explore Cook's collection.

At a bad point in life? Why not check out some people who are happy and maybe pick up a few pointers. "Beverly McIver: Life is Good" is on exhibit now through Nov. 9 at the Joseph Gross Gallery. Can you imagine a better way to top off a long day of classes than a relaxing stroll through the gallery?

If you have the gumption to maneuver your way through the library construction, stop in for their celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. On feature this month is "Rudolfo Anaya: La Gran Voz Del Llano." This exhibit will showcase Anaya's novels, short stories and plays, including Anaya's best known work, "Bless Me, Ultima." You can visit the exhibit on the third floor anytime during library hours or call Bob Diaz at 621-9919 for information on all the library's festivities in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Do you obsessively flip through fashion magazines checking out the latest clothes? Want to be on the A dress list? Why not stop by the Center for Creative Photography today to celebrate the work of famed fashion photographer Louise Dahl-Wolfe, who has shot 86 cover images and thousands of photographs for Harper's Bazaar. Dahl-Wolfe also shot photos for Vogue and Sports Illustrated. "Louise Dahl-Wolfe: The American Image" is on exhibit at the Center for Creative Photography through Nov. 26. Call the center at 621-7968 if you have any questions.
