The race for ASUA senate got even thinner late last week when another candidate dropped out, bringing the number of contenders for the 10 senate spots down to 17.
Political science sophomore Elizabeth Bloom discontinued her pursuit for an Associated Students of the University of Arizona senatorial position, making her the third candidate to pull out of the race.
Bloom said she withdrew for personal reasons and declined further comment.
Current ASUA senators Gloria Macias and Brandon Peterson both dropped out of the race earlier last week.
Campaigning for the senate spots, as well as the three executive positions, began Wednesday as candidates put up banners across campus.
This Wednesday at noon, candidates will present their platforms at an elections forum on the Mall.
Primary elections will take place Feb. 26 and 27, and general elections will be held March 6 and 7.
Students will be able to vote online or at the polling booth that will be located between the Student Union Memorial Center and the Second Street Garage on the days of the primary and general elections.
