Throughout the year, the UA School of Music and Dance offers recitals from its talented core of students for anyone and everyone to hear. Watch the latest installment of the German film series this evening at 7:30 in the Modern Languages auditorium. "The Burning Soil" is a rare film by F.W. Murnau, filmed in 1928. The flick dramatizes early 20th century peasantry, land struggles and the human conflicts that lie therein. The UA Visiting Poets and Writers Reading Series welcomes Carolyn Forche to display her award winning poetry for students, staff, faculty and the general public at absolutely no cost. Forche's articles, reviews and poetry have been featured in books as well as publications like The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Nation, Esquire and Mother Jones. The reading will be held at 8 p.m. at St. Philip's in the Hills, 4400 N.
