A student was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Friday night after a resident assistant reported the smell of burnt marijuana, reports stated.

University of Arizona Police Department officers responded to Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., and made contact with an RA who said he smelled marijuana from a room and saw paraphernalia.

Officers made contact with room occupant Adam K. Seigle, 18. Reports stated Seigle handed officers a 4-inch glass pipe and said "this is mine."

Seigle said he smoked marijuana outside earlier in the evening and was cleaning the residue out of the pipe. He said the odor of marijuana was from him cleaning the pipe.

Reports stated Seigle then pointed into the bathroom. Inside the bathroom was a plastic bong smoking device approximately 4.5 feet high.

Seigle said he didn't have any other marijuana.

His bong and pipe were taken in as evidence.


An employee called police Friday morning after a printer was stolen from the back of a university vehicle, reports stated.

Offices responded to 110 E. Campus Drive and spoke to an employee who reported an ink jet printer stolen from the back of a UA pick-up truck.

The employee said she parked the vehicle on the north side of the Veterinary Sciences and Microbiology building, 1117 E. Lowell St., and left the printer in the bed of the truck as she went inside.

Reports stated she went inside to ask another employee to get the item because it was too heavy for her to carry.

She was told by the employee the item had been stolen.

There are no suspects at this time.


An employee reported two speakers stolen from a campus building Friday afternoon, reports stated.

The employee went to the University of Arizona Police Department station to report a set of speakers stolen from the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd.

The employee said the last time he saw the speakers was Sept. 22 during an alumni fund-raiser.

When employees opened the room Sept. 25, the speakers were missing, reports stated.

The employee said he waited to report the theft to see if maybe an employee had taken them.

There are no witnesses or suspects at this time.


Police were on patrol Friday night when they noticed a student walking down a street with a beer in his hand, reports stated.

Officers observed student James F. Howell, 18, walking on North Park Avenue while holding a beer.

Police confronted Howell and asked him if he had been drinking. He replied that he had.

Reports stated Howell spoke with a slur, had bloodshot eyes and smelled of an alcoholic beverage.

Officers informed Howell he would be diverted to the Dean of Students. Office and also told him if he didn't follow regulations, he would be charged with minor in possession of alcohol.


Police were called Friday after a student's vehicle was broken into at an off-campus lot, reports stated.

The vehicle was broken into at a university lot at 1370 E. Prince Road.

The student said he parked his vehicle at approximately 7:30 a.m., returned at 3 p.m. and found his vehicle had been broken into.

Reports stated both the driver and passenger side doors of the pick-up were unlocked.

Although the faceplate to the truck's stereo was taken, the rest of the device was not. There were signs of forced entry in taking the device.

Reports stated the wire running to the vehicle's alarm was cut and inoperable. Other items taken included speakers, CDs and a silver ashtray.


A student called police Friday evening after his belongings were stolen from Bear Down Gym, reports stated.

Police met with the student at the Student Recreation Center, 1400 E. Sixth St., who said he locked his belongings at 5 p.m. in the locker room of Bear Down Gym, 1428 E. University Blvd.

Reports stated when the student returned at 7 p.m., his wallet containing a driver's license, Visa card and $40 was stolen, but his backpack and cell phone were not.

The student also noticed his lock missing.

There are no suspects at this time.


Police were called Friday evening after a student reported his license plate stolen from a campus area parking lot, reports stated.

Police made contact with the student shortly after midnight on Saturday morning. The student parked his truck in a lot at 1440 E. Fourth St. at 9:45 p.m.

Reports stated when the student returned at 11:15 p.m., his Arizona license plate was missing from the back of his truck. The "XLT" emblem was also reported missing from the rear tailgate of the vehicle.

There are no suspects at this time.
