Learn where you fit in the new cultural molds at today's Fall Leadership Workshop at 3 p.m. "Not my mama's multiculturalism" takes place in the Park Student Union, Turquoise Room. Put the news reports aside and gather the information for yourself at today's Center for Middle Eastern Studies lecture featuring Jefferson Gray. Gray, a visiting instructor of political science at the University of Utah, offers his insight on Civil Society and Its Tribal Discontents: Clan and Effective Associational Life in Contemporary Kuwait, Jordan, and Yemen." Today's lecture begins at 3:30 p.m. in Franklin, Room 202H. For more information on other CMES programs, call Anne Bennett at 621-8079.


Tired of listening to scratchy music on your old record player? Are the speakers in your car fighting for their last breath? Take a break from the world of recorded music and get into the live musical scene. The University Activities Board Concert Committee is sponsoring Eat to the Beat today on the UA Mall. Local bands will perform from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at no cost to the listeners. For more information on this free concert experience, call J. J. Kruglick at 621-5779.


Rush on over to the McKale Center at 7 p.m. tonight for an evening of food, sports and spirits. "College Night" features a competitive match-up between your Wildcat women's volleyball team and the girls from USC. The first 500 students will receive pizza to munch on in between plays. Admission is $5 for the general public and free for UA students with a valid CatCard. For more information or to reserve seats, call the McKale ticket office at 621-2287.


Not old enough to hit the Fourth Ave. bar scene on a busy Thursday night? Pick up complementary passes in the Student Union Memorial Center Room 404 for tonight's screening of "K-Pax" at 7:30 p.m. The University Activity Board Film Committee is sponsoring tonight's movie, previewing in Social Sciences 100, starring Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges.
