ASUA Sen. Doug Hartz counted the number of students in various classes last week as part of his plan to propose a nine-day Thanksgiving Break. The Arizona Daily Wildcat asked students if there should be a week-long fall break during Thanksgiving week, and if they would be willing to start school three days earlier in the fall to get that break?

"Yes. In the beginning of the school year, (school) is no big deal. It's like 'this sucks,' but in the end of the school year you want to just lay home in bed."
- Marco Palmeri, pre-computer science freshman

"A lot of people go take Thanksgiving off, and it would give people who need time off time to see their families."
- Benjamin Silva, music graduate student

"A lot of people live out of state and having a four-day weekend is not enough time. I practically live out of state. I drive six hours each way to get home."
- Heather Thomas, pre-business freshman

"I think they should leave (Thanksgiving break) the way it is and have break in the middle of October."
- Stephanie Slater, biochemistry junior

"It's not really a good break·because there is so little school afterwards."
- Retsina Meyer, biochemistry senior
