Washington State head coach Mike Price was named coach of the year.

Gardner, Pickney named Pac-10 Players of the Week
After the women's basketball team emulated the men's squad by pulling off an upset against No. 15 and 2000-01 national champion Notre Dame, it was only fitting that senior forward Elizabeth Pickney joined junior point guard Jason Gardner as Pac-10 Players of the Week for men's and women's sports.
Gardner's honor was a result of his performances between Nov. 8 and Nov. 25. It was the first time the conference gave out the award this season. During those three games, Gardner led the Wildcats to upsets over No. 2 Maryland, No. 6 Florida and No. 22 Texas, averaging 24.7 points, 5.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game.
He also collected the Most Valuable Player award at the Coaches vs. Cancer IKON Classic, and currently ranks fifth in the country in scoring. His Pac-10 award is the first of his career.
Pickney collected her award after anchoring the Wildcats in the post during their 3-0 start, including the upset victory over the Fighting Irish, in which she hit the game-winning shot as time expired.
Pickney is averaging 21 points, 7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game so far this season, and is shooting a torrid 57.1 percent from the field and 95.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Pickney is only 28 points away from fifth place on Arizona's all-time scoring list and four blocks away from the school record. She has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week four times.
