A female employee at the UA Press, 355 S. Euclid Ave., discovered a disturbing fax when she arrived at work Wednesday morning, reports stated.

The fax was received the previous evening and had no return name or address on it. In the top left corner of the page was the word "Patriotttt" and the rest of the fax was filled with words like "conspiracy, 666, Waco, and Jesus is Lord," reports stated.

Half of the fax was upside down, and it was difficult to understand. It was not addressed to anyone in particular and contained no threats, reports stated.

This is the first suspicious fax that the UA Press has ever received. Employees said that they were unaware of anyone who would want to do them harm, but suspected that it might be someone who did not like a book that they published, reports stated. Police have no witnesses or suspects.

A UA student lost control of his motorcycle and became irate toward responding officials Wednesday.

A fire truck and an ambulance from the Tucson Fire Department responded to the scene at North Park Avenue near the volleyball courts. The student attempted to climb aboard the engine and have them take him to urgent care, reports stated.

The student said that he had no insurance, and became irate when the TFD captain explained that a non-insured ambulance ride costs $6,000, reports stated.

When UA police arrived, the student attempted to climb into a patrol car hoping they would take him to urgent care, reports stated.

One officer asked the student for ID and the student said he would give it to him in the patrol car on the way to the hospital. The officer responded that he would not take the student anywhere until he provided him with ID. The student became verbally abusive to the officer, but eventually gave him his ID, reports stated.

The officer asked the student if he would allow TFD to care for the abrasions on both his left arm and leg, but the student said no and TFD left the scene, reports stated.

The student would not tell police about the accident, reports stated.

A female UA employee reported suspicious behavior in the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd., to UAPD Wednesday, reports stated.

An unknown man approached the employee on the second floor of the union and asked her questions about the number of rooms and how steady the structure was, reports stated.

The woman told police that she then became suspicious and asked the man for his name, but instead of giving it to her, he disappeared. Police stopped a suspicious looking person in the Integrated Learning Center, but he said he was using a computer and denied ever being present at the union, reports stated. The man did not match the description given by the female employee.

A UA student was cited on charges of domestic violence after a fight broke out in the Apache-Santa Cruz Residence Hall, 1420 E. Fifth St., Wednesday, reports stated.

Two UA officers responded to the scene, where they were met by a student who said he had been assaulted by his roommate. The fight broke out after the two had a disagreement over books that were placed on top of an AC/heater unit, reports stated. One of the men allegedly told the other one that the books were on his side of the room and that he wanted him to move them. The other student refused and the argument led to pushing, with one student punching the other in the arm repeatedly, reports stated.

The officer observed a large red and purple mark on one student's arm, consistent with multiple strikes. The student indicated that he wanted to press charges, reports stated.

When officers were inspecting the room they discovered an orange construction flag and amber construction light resting on the top shelf of one resident's closet. The officer asked the student about it, and he said that his friend gave it to him, reports stated.

The student said, "You would be surprised what some people take around here," reports stated.

The officer informed him that he could be arrested for possession of stolen property, and the officer took the construction materials back to the station, reports stated.

The officer informed the student that he was going to file a code of conduct violation with the Dean of Students.

UA police responded to reports of a disruption of the peace at Skyview Apartments, 1050 E. Eighth St., Tuesday, reports stated. Two female UA students told police that they were having problems with four male students that lived directly above them. The women said the men refused to turn down their music, had made comments toward the women, and were peering into the girls' bedroom windows when they were getting dressed, reports stated.

The women also told police the men were using their window as a ladder into their own window.

The men denied peering into the women's rooms or using their window as a ladder. One of the men did acknowledge, however, that their apartment frequently had loud music playing, calling it "the social room," reports stated.

The women did not press charges, but wanted the harassment to stop. All parties agreed to do whatever necessary to solve the problem, reports stated.
