A case of potato chips worth $25 was stolen from a campus hot dog stand Monday, reports stated.

Officers responded to the Nathan's Hot Dogs stand on the south side of the Harvill Building, 1103 E. Second St., where they found four cabinets with broken locks. Nothing else was missing from the stand, reports stated.

Police do not have any suspects or witnesses.

A banner promoting a children's conference at the Education Building, 1430 E. Second St., was reported stolen Monday, reports stated.

The banner, which was hung on the west side of the building, was last seen on Friday night, reports stated. The banner's estimated value is $200, reports stated. Police have no suspects.

An irrigation line on the east side of the Ina E. Gittings Dance building, 1713 E. University Blvd., broke Monday, flooding part of the building and nearby streets, reports stated.

Police responded to the scene after they received reports of water pooling in the intersection of East University Boulevard and North Cherry Avenue.

Officers noticed that the water had also entered the building and was an inch deep in some hallways, reports stated.

Crews from the UA Plumbing Division stopped the flow within an hour and made plans to bring in water pumps the next day to take care of the indoor flooding, reports stated.

A UA student was arrested Sunday after he threw rocks at cars parked in a lot outside Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, 1050 N. Cherry Ave., Sunday, reports stated.

Two Delta Tau Delta members said they rushed to their window when they heard a metal banging noise outside. The members said they saw the student throw a rock at their house from where he was standing across the street outside Sigma Chi Fraternity, reports stated.

The rock struck the rear window of a Toyota Camry parked in the lot, shattering it, and then the Delta Tau Delta members went outside to confront the student and get his name, reports stated.

Responding officers also questioned the student about the incident, which he said he did not have any part in, reports stated. The student was arrested and taken to Pre-trial Services, and a code of conduct violation was filed with the Dean of Students, reports stated.

Someone shot a bullet through a residence hall window Sunday, reports stated.

Five UA students were studying in Maricopa Residence Hall, 1031 N. Campus Drive, when one of them heard a gunshot and glass break in a lounge area where she had just been standing. The student did not know whether someone had actually shot at the window or thrown a rock through it, reports stated.

The other four students, who were studying in an adjacent room, did not hear the glass break or the gunshot. After the one student informed them of what happened they proceeded to search the room, looking for whatever it was that had gone through the window, reports stated.

One of the students found a copper-colored bullet slug in the hallway, near the lounge door, reports stated.

Responding officers declared the room a crime scene and tagged evidence and took pictures. Police believed that the bullet might have been accidentally kicked into the hallway, reports stated. One of the students told police that she remembered seeing a newer model, red Volkswagen Beetle parked across the street with a female in it who was looking at the dorm. After she heard the gunshot the Beetle was no longer there, reports stated.

A UA police officer arrested a man on charges of driving under the influence on U.S. Highway 191 in Graham County, reports stated.

The officer was locking up an Arizona Department of Transportation lot on March 1, when he saw a vehicle with its lights off stop on the shoulder of the road. As the officer walked back to his cruiser, the vehicle's lights turned on, and the driver took off, spinning the vehicle's tires in the dirt, reports stated. The officer caught up with the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

The officer detected a strong scent of intoxicants coming from the vehicle, and when he approached it, the passenger said that his friend was driving his truck because he had been drinking, reports stated.

The driver also showed signs of being under the influence, and when the officer questioned him he said, "I am not going to lie to you. I had two beers."

The officer saw two open longneck bottles of Budweiser in the console and, after requesting backup, told the passengers to get out of the vehicle. As the man on the passenger side was exiting the vehicle he accidentally spilled beer on himself from a bottle that he was attempting to hide from the officer, reports stated.

The driver refused to take a field sobriety test and said, "Not even a sober person can pass that test," reports stated.

A further search of the vehicle revealed four more unopened bottles of beer hidden under some clothing, reports stated. Police took the two men to Graham County Jail. The passenger was charged with possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, reports stated.
