Wildcat editorial fails to enlighten readers

The Wildcat Opinions Board on Monday urged us to give our UA troops our full support. However, they did not detail what that means. For those who support the war, it means that one should support the war effort. To those who do not support the war, it means essentially the opposite, namely that one should protest against the war effort to bring the troops home. It's too bad that the Wildcat has decided to foster misunderstanding among the general public instead of helping them to understand. [Read article]

Since the war with Iraq began last week, many prominent U.S. news stations are dedicating themselves to around-the-clock war coverage. Although many of the images bring back memories of Gulf War footage, there are major differences. For years, many people have said that the next war would be covered in "real time," instantaneous images of battles and interviews. Others have focused on the increasingly video game-like animation and graphics used to explain the latest developments and detailed military weapons. [Read article]
