Banned banner
Independent Florida Alligator
University of Florida
Frustrated with the lack of campus support at the University of Florida for U.S. troops, a banner briefly adorned the side of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity's house March 20.
The banner, which read "Phi Sigma Kappa supports the war effort, F-Saddam," hung for only a few short hours before a call informed David Bynes, assistant director of Greek Life.
Gay dorms
The Greyhound
Loyola College-Maryland
If Loyola College administrators accept a proposal for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual special interest housing, Loyola would be the first Jesuit university in the nation to offer this type of community.
"It shows that the university has made that step to realizing there is more to homosexuality than sex," said Peter Marino, director of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual (GLBT) issues for the undergraduate government of Boston College.
Drinking for credit
Cornell Daily Sun
Cornell University
Every Wednesday this semester from 2:30 to 4:25 p.m., more than 800 Cornell University students are getting credit for imbibing alcohol.

The students are enrolled in the hotel school's two-credit Wine Appreciation class.
The near-capacity class is taught every semester.
