Gluteus glee

The Observer
University of Notre Dame

Members of the University of Notre Dame Glee Club may face disciplinary action after one of their members mooned high school students and other Glee Club members at a Connecticut high school where the club performed during their spring break tour.

According to Tom Jones, principal of Suffield High School, a member of the Glee Club mooned other students in a rehearsal room before the Glee Club's performance.

Members of the Glee Club did not return phone calls seeking comment.

Lori Maurer, assistant director of Residence Life, said that her office was looking into the incident but could not comment on any specific action that might be taken.

Bed nightmare

Daily Bruin
University of California-Los Angeles

University of California at Los Angeles freshman Fallon Smith doesn't recall exactly what happened the morning of Feb. 20 at about 5 a.m., but her roommates provided her with the details.

"My roommate told me she heard a big noise, then heard me screaming, ÎOh my God, oh my God.' She looked down and saw me bleeding and stumbling into the hall," Smith said.

Smith had fallen off her rail-less bunk bed.

Smith suffered cuts and bruises on the right side of her face and developed a swollen eye, which did not open for four days.

After the incident, Smith refused to sleep on her lofted bed.

Kappa Kappa fire

The Lantern
Ohio State University

The smell of smoke still lingers at the Ohio State University's Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house after an early morning fire Wednesday gutted the building.

The blaze, ruled an accident by the fire department, was caused by an electrical problem involving a hair curler.

The fire resulted in about $80,000 in damages.

Firefighters responded to the call at about 3 a.m. and had the fire under control within 20 minutes, said Kelly McGuire, a spokeswoman for the Columbus Division of Fire.

One firefighter was hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

All of the sorority members exited the house safely.

The Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority members declined to comment.
