A Tucson man was cited for drinking in public at the intersection of East Speedway Boulevard and North Campbell Avenue, Wednesday, reports stated.

A UA police officer at the intersection saw three men holding beer cans while sitting at a nearby bus stop, and proceeded to pull up next to the bench on his motorcycle, reports stated.

One of the men then reportedly took a swig from one of the cans in front of the officer.

When the officer asked, "What are you doing? Why did you drink that with me in front of you?" the man said, "Well, you'll just give me a ticket."

The officer handcuffed the man and told him to sit on the ground. The other two men, who the officer did not see drink any beer, were told to pour out the remaining cans. They were warned for drinking in public, reports stated.

The man on the ground was arrested and cited for drinking in public and providing false information to a police officer, after giving the officer a fake name, reports stated.

He was taken to Pima County Jail.

The student said she also believed the steering had been tampered with because when she got on the motorcycle and tried to drive away, she lost control and fell to the ground. She scraped her knees and chin, reports stated.

The student told police her ex-roommate could have caused the damage, reports stated.

A doorman at Dirtbag's, 1800 E. Speedway Blvd., called police after a man stole a California driver license from him late Tuesday night, reports stated.

The doorman said the theft occurred after a man attempted to enter the establishment with a fake California license. When the doorman pulled out a real California license to show the man the difference, the man grabbed the license from his hand and took off toward East Helen Street, reports stated.

Police found the real ID lying in the middle of East Helen Street and returned it to the doorman, reports stated.

The fake ID was taken into evidence.

A UA student's purse was stolen from the third floor of the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., April 18, reports stated.

The student told police she left her purse on a table. When she returned, she saw a man slipping the purse into his backpack. She was unable to provide police with a description of the man, reports stated.

The purse cost $100; it contained $1.25 in U.S. currency, two credit cards and a CatCard, reports stated.

The student cancelled her credit cards.

A UA student's cell phone was stolen while he was in the Student Union Memorial Center, 1301 E. University Blvd. Monday, reports stated.
