Info commons employee isn't monitoring the Web sites you visit
WILDCAT: What do you really do here?
PILLILLI: Help people here to get to the software and if they have any problems.
WILDCAT: Well, do you ever have to chase some of the more unmentionable people out of here? You know, the weirdos, transients and stuff?
PILLILLI: Not exactly.
WILDCAT: Because I remember at the old place up there, they were swept out on a daily basis like mice from a Turkish prison. What's the craziest thing you've seen students try and do?
PILLILLI: Actually, sometimes they do play games when it's really busy.
WILDCAT: One thing I've seen when this place is slammed is students just checking e-mail. Then you've got people like me that are growing gray hair trying to get a term paper done.
PILLILLI: Actually, I've never come across that up until now. Maybe in the coming few days, because it's the end of the semester.
WILDCAT: Right.
PILLILLI: If something like that happens, students like that will take priority. Generally people are really good here. They understand.
WILDCAT: Have you ever had a situation where you had to call the police?
PILLILLI: I hope that doesn't come, that it doesn't happen.
WILDCAT: Right. What about those who come here to look at the bad, nasty stuff, you know, like whitehouse.com?
PILLILLI: Actually, we should not, I mean, we should not check anybody. That's their wish. If something really tough happens, we'll do something about it.
WILDCAT: Can't you guys trace that stuff? I remember once place that I worked administrators would be told about it when someone went to an un-kosher site.
PILLILLI: No, we don't.
