Order of the Phoenix brings maturity to book series
J.K. Rowling
Scholastic
Before entering his fifth year at Hogwart's, Harry Potter struggles through his summer at Privet Drive wondering what has happened to his friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, because they have barely contacted him over the long, hot summer. They have also neglected to answer any of his questions about the status of Lord Voldemort, leaving his imagination to run wild about the status of the wizard world.
The action begins with the dementors coming for Potter in a dark alley way and the possibility of him being expelled from Hogwart's.
Glossary
dementor: a prison guard that sucks the livelihood from his captors
quidditch: a game played in the air on broomsticks. The objective is to catch a speeding nut-sized ball without being beaten by a larger heatseeking ball
Hogwart's: the boarding school that Harry Potter and his friends attend

Harry Potter and his friends are not only going to face their toughest year at Hogwart's with their Ordinary Wizarding Exams, but also will face some big changes. There is a new defense against the dark arts teacher and there are some changes in the lineup for the Gryffndor quidditch team. Top that with all the hormonal and emotional complications that come with adolescence and Potter fans are in for a wild ride.
Despite Potter's fame and privilege in the wizard world, his life has by no means been a smooth ride. Potter, who survived the dark Lord Voldemort's curse when he was only an infant, has been a student at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for four years. In that time, he has endured more than the normal wizardry training.
Potter's adventures began with his battle to save the world from Lord Voldemort in The Sorcerer's Stone. Throughout his adventures he develops relationships with Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. Granger, Weasley and Potter make up the trio that solves mysteries and crimes around Hogwart's throughout the book series.
The trio then goes on to solve problems in The Chamber of Secrets, which chronicles their second year at Hogwart's. Mystery shrouds The Prisoner of Azkaban when Hagrid is accused of a crime he didn't commit and Potter discovers his parents' past. In The Goblet Of Fire, Potter once again encounters Lord Voldemort, who appears to have gained back all his power, during the Triwizard tournament.
After three years of anticipation J.K. Rowling finally delivers Harry Potter's long awaited coming of age. Will Potter face Lord Voldemort for once and for all in The Order of the Phoenix? There's 866 pages between you and the answer. Get started!
