The Arizona soccer team will promote itself to a younger audience at Sunday's game against San Diego.
The Wildcats designated the day as Youth Day at Murphey Stadium, the first home game for Arizona in three weeks.
"Youth Day is something that's always very exciting," head coach Cathy Klein said.
Youth Day allows a younger generation to be able to enjoy a day of collegiate soccer and participate in events conducted on the actual game field as well.
"We love to work with the younger soccer community," Klein said.
Soccer team posters will be distributed to spectators prior to the match, which is set to begin at 11 a.m. against the University of San Diego.
At halftime, children will be able to participate in a kicking contest and win prizes. After the game, UA soccer players and coaches will be available for autographs, and then will conduct a youth soccer clinic for children ages 13 and younger, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Klein said her team is excited for the opportunity to share their sport with the youth of Tucson.
"We relish the chance to work with the soccer youth," Klein said.
The soccer team is off to their best start ever with a 3-1-1 record and is undefeated in two games at home this year. Over the past two seasons the Wildcats have posted a 7-3-1 home record.
The schedule that has been laid down in front of Arizona is not easy this year. Five of their opponents are nationally ranked and four are ranked in their respective regions öö though San Diego is not ranked.
