Running game key to tomorrow's match-up against Wisconsin

With all the question marks surrounding the outcome of tomorrow's game in Madison between Arizona and Wisconsin, one thing is for sure; One of the teams will no longer be undefeated.

The feature match-up of tomorrow's 9 a.m. game will be at the running back spot.

Wisconsin sophomore running back Anthony Davis gained 1,466 yards last year as a freshman on his way to the Big Ten's Freshman of the Year award, however, yards haven't come as easy this season for the Wisconsin sophomore. [Read article]

Volleyball gears up for UCLA, USC

The young season of the UA volleyball team has been somewhat of a rollercoaster ride of trials and tribulations.

The Wildcats began the season ranked sixth in the nation, but two weeks and a face-lifted lineup later, sit ranked 15th.

However, Arizona overcame the loss of senior Stefani Saragosa, who quit the team last week, as well as a new lineup with senior Shannon Torregrosa in the middle to win the Nike Pacific Invitation. [Read article]

Senior Naomi Chu is all of those, except for the Mohican, unicorn and disco part.

She came to Arizona four years ago, from Thousand Oaks, Calif., after she looked at other schools but knew what she wanted: To be a Wildcat.

"I looked elsewhere, but here the education complemented what I wanted to pursue," she said. "UCLA, whatever, it's all the Pac-10, the best conference for competition." [Read article]

Home-field advantage can go a long way, especially when you're playing five out of six games on the road.

The soccer team is in the middle of their current tour of the country and this weekend they get to stay home for the first time in three weeks and the last time for another two weeks.

The University of San Diego (5-1-1) comes to Tucson on Sunday at 11 a.m. after playing ASU in Tempe today. [Read article]

Men's tennis prepares for exhibition

The Arizona men's tennis team opens their fall exhibition play in the inaugural Napa Valley Fall Classic in California this weekend against the likes of Illinois, Georgia and California.

Wildcat head coach Bill Wright said the competition will be stiff with the Fighting Illini and the Bulldogs being among the top four teams in the nation.

UA features four returning players from last year's 9-12 team, led by Junior Whi Kim and Senior Tom Lloyd. [Read article]
