Home-field advantage can go a long way, especially when you're playing five out of six games on the road.

The soccer team is in the middle of their current tour of the country and this weekend they get to stay home for the first time in three weeks and the last time for another two weeks.

The University of San Diego (5-1-1) comes to Tucson on Sunday at 11 a.m. after playing ASU in Tempe today.

The Wildcats (3-1-1) are coming of off their only loss of the season last weekend, 2-0, to an undefeated Oklahoma team in Norman, Okla.

Arizona went to halftime tied 0-0 with the Sooners but found the second half to their disliking. Oklahoma scored two goals in three minutes against the Wildcats.

"We learned a lot from the Oklahoma game," said senior Tymarie Novak. "We're totally excited for this one."

San Diego is another tough team on a tear, who after dropping their first game of the season to UCLA, have yet to lose another.

Last weekend they swept at home with wins over Fresno State 4-2 and Long Beach State 3-0.

"San Diego is a good team, as good as Oklahoma," said head coach Cathy Klein. "We learned from last week."

This is the first time Arizona and USD will take the field together.

The high scoring of the Toreros isn't worrying sophomore defender Lindsey Peeples.

"I think we're ready for this game, we just need to focus our play," Peeples said.

Fifteen points by way of seven goals and one assist tops the Toreros scoring list öö all done by freshman Lee Ann Klopschinski. Junior Brenna Mullen who has five goals and two assists is second on the scoring list just ahead of two players tied with seven points each.

"Their style is really good," said freshman Erin Clewett, the team's assist leader with three. "They are a fast-paced strong team."

USD sophomore goaltender Natalie Bobbit has played five matches, collecting ten saves, one shutout and a 0.82 goals-against average.

Arizona has netted nine goals so far this season from seven different players.

Leading the way for the Wildcats with two goals each are senior Naomi Chu and freshman Mallory Miller. Miller has knocked two more shots than Chu who stands with 13.

Following with one goal and one assist each is senior Tymarie Novak and junior Lindsey Greenwood.

Freshman goaltender Amanda Martin has shutdown two offenses completely, made 27 saves with a 0.60 goals-against average and combined with fellow freshman Natalie Juarez for a third shutout against Northern Iowa.

Following the game Sunday is Youth Day where team posters will be handed out before and after the game. A team autograph session and clinic for children 13 and under will follow the game. There is no charge for admission to UA soccer games.
