Exhibit highlights paintings by American Indian artists
Highlights from the Avery Collection of American Indian Paintings will be displayed at the Arizona State Museum on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
The collection includes works of various Native artists from the 1930s to the 1990s.
During this public opening, you can also meet the curators and hear their stories. Guided Tours will be held at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Admission is free.
Theater education troupe presents ÎStep on a Crack'
Play production and performance etc·, the educational theatre company, will be performing the children's play "Step on a Crack," by Suzan Zeder.
Zeder is an experienced and award-winning playwright with more than a dozen plays credited to her name. She currently teaches playwriting at the University of Texas at Austin.
This performance can be seen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, and 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Drama building, Room 116. The cost is $3.50.
Benefit performance to help flute student fight cancer
The Music Department is holding a benefit concert for Katherine Kitzman on Friday. Kitzman is a doctoral candidate in flute performance who is battling cancer.
The event begins at 7:30 p.m. at Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams St.

South African artist shares apartheid struggle in slides
Artist Paul Stopforth will be presenting his art in a slide lecture titled "Freedom, Exile, and the Foreign Land" on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Stopforth will be describing his journey to the United States from South Africa, where he was involved in the struggle against apartheid.
For this cultural experience, go to the University of Arizona School of Architecture Museum, located on the east side of the pedestrian underpass southeast of North Park Avenue and East Speedway Boulevard. This event is free and open to the public.
