B-ball spirit shirt design contest tips off Monday
Students will be able to design and name new UA basketball student spirit shirts in a contest that begins Monday.
The "Name the Student Spirit Shirt" contest ÷ presented by student government, Pepsi, the Arizona Daily Wildcat and Arizona Athletics ÷ will run through Friday, ASUA Sen. Peter Wand announced at Wednesday's Senate meeting.
Beginning Monday, there will be entry forms printed in the Wildcat for students to enter the contest. Students will be able to draw designs on the forms or produce ideas and names. They also can attach a logo or graphic for consideration.

Thanks to brand new studio, UATV will offer more shows to residence hall residents and, eventually, the rest of Tucson
Now armed with a studio, the UA's student TV station, UATV, is working on slating new shows and shedding its past reputation, along with its old name ÷ TV3.
UATV, which changed its name this year from TV3, has added two shows this month, with two other new shows coming up.

Student Senate preps for slippery party with voters
Students should be ready to get their booties wet and their brain cells rocked this Saturday.
The student government will be hosting its "Buffet by the Bay" at Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall.
The event "is a community outreach program designed to give students the opportunity to meet their elected officials" on the Associated Students of the University of Arizona Senate, said ASUA president Doug Hartz.

New ENCORE! musical
The UA will present a song and dance musical celebrating the two most glorious words in the English language: musical comedy! Professor Richard Hanson, its founder and current director, created ENCORE! to feature freshmen musical theatre students by providing a platform where young artists can test themselves in preparation for professional careers in the theatre.
This high-spirited musical group has grown to be one of the School of Theatre Arts' best-loved touring ambassadors. The show starts tonight at 7:30 in the Theatre Arts building, Musical Theatre Studio, Room 125. The cost is $5 for all seats. For more information call the Fine Arts Box Office 621-1162.
