After students camped out overnight and nearly trampled each other Monday morning in pursuit of the hottest tickets in town, thousands pounded redial early yesterday morning trying to call in to get a pair of basketball tickets. The Wildcat asked students:

1. Did you try to get basketball tickets? If so, were you successful?
2. How should the McKale Center ticket office sell student basketball tickets?

"Yeah I did. No. They should hire like 30 people, at like five bucks an hour ÷ big-ass security guards ÷ to try and enforce the law. My next best option would be anything other than what they are doing now."

"No. No. I think they should do a lottery where freshmen get one ticket in a hat; sophomores, two tickets in a hat; juniors, three; and seniors, four. Me and Shar came up with a theory: What (ticket office employees) do is they pick a janitor at McKale Center every year and if (a janitor is) the lucky winner, (the janitor gets) to devise the plans for the tickets."

"I did. No. My roommate camped out on Monday and I met her at five. They should set up more places where you can get tickets. They just had one spot. I think it would lessen the crowd."

communications senior, who called for half an hour

"No, I forgot about (calling). I think that to avoid any violence and craziness, they should try to do something online."

"No. No. I don't think lottery is working right now. Isn't the problem more alumni and that we're selling too many seats to alumni? I think they should maybe start a program to better suit the students. The alumni are getting a good deal on all these good seats, while the real fans, the students, don't get the tickets. If we had a bigger student section, we'd have a lot more enthusiasm during games."
