Second year of the Mackovic era set to kick off tomorrow night

Decorum dictates that a coach never admit that any game is a guaranteed win. But UA's match-up tomorrow night with Northern Arizona University is as close to that as the Wildcats will see this season.

When UA (0-0) kicks off against Divison I-AA NAU (0-0) tomorrow, the biggest challenge will be to not lose any key players to injury and establish confidence heading into the Wildcats' next game against Utah two weeks later. [Read article]

photo Rubio looks for 200th career win in Louisville tournament

It has been eight months since the UA women's volleyball team's dream of winning its first ever national championship was shattered.

But with five returning seniors and the nation's top recruiting class, the No. 6 Wildcats are ready to begin their road back.

It will all begin today against the University of Texas-Arlington in the Louisville Labor Day Invitational.

UA opponents will consist of Texas-Arlington and American University, and Louisville, tomorrow. All three teams qualified for last year's NCAA Tournament. [Read article]

photo Soccer begins season today with new hopes, new faces

The UA women's soccer team will begin its ninth season today as it plays host to the Wildcat Invitational at Murphey Stadium.

The tournament begins when Cal Poly and Detroit play at 5 p.m. with the Wildcats playing Drake in the 7:30 p.m. nightcap.

The invitational then continues on Sunday when Drake plays Detroit at 11 a.m. Arizona plays the late game again, this time against Cal Poly at 2 p.m. [Read article]
