Wildcat coverage of Israeli-Palestinian conflict does present Īboth perspectives'

In response to Armand Navabi's letter published on Nov. 25, I have to disagree with his assertion that the Wildcat's coverage of the Middle East is one-sided. If anyone takes the time to search the archives of the Wildcat, they would find that the coverage is truly not.

Columns from Julian Kunnie (Africana studies director) and Mariam Durrani, which present the "other side," have had their fair share of publication in the Wildcat, among others. But the truth is that there are more than just two sides (Palestinian and Israeli perspectives) to the conflict. [Read article]

Guest Commentary: Ramadan, the peaceful month

All praise to Allah who spread peace and created all that has been created, and peace and blessing be upon all prophets and messengers.

It has been said that your freedom ends where the freedom of others begins. This saying states nicely all the meanings that identify your freedom and the conditions to enjoy this freedom. It is not part of freedom to spread evil left and right under the cover of freedom, nor is it part of this freedom to attack and insult others. To accuse others without any basis in fact is not part of freedom of speech, either. If we agree to define a terrorist as one who propagates terror, fear, panic and alarm in the community, and one who destroys the moral fiber and devastates the economic basis of a society, then this definition applies to many people. These new alumni will join the ranks of thousands past and thousands future that constitute the Arizona diaspora. With these rights and privileges comes a duty. [Read article]

photo End real theft in music industry

Anyone who watches the new commercials put out by the "Big 5," better known as the bastards who control 85 percent of the world's (yes world's) music, almost can't help bursting into tears hearing them describe how selfish mp3 "piracy" is taking food from their mouths. And the tears do flow, accompanied by the phrase: "Ha ha ha ha ha!" Give us a break! The biggest crock of all is that artists like DMX and Sean "P-faux-ghetto" Combs whine about how the students who survive by scraping old cheese from pizza boxes in the recycling bins (otherwise known as "fans") keep downloading their top 40 songs and forcing them to settle for gold teeth plating instead of platinum.
