Friday

Register for a day of family fun
Registration tents will be set up at Old Main from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This is exactly where your dad will end up if he's the type of guy to don bike shorts and a fanny pack on a college campus.

Feeling harmonious?
Come see the Arizona Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Thomas Cockrell for a concert you won't forget. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at the cozy Crowder Hall.

Tickets must be purchased from the Fine Arts Box Office. For more information, contact the box office at 621-1162.

High rollers hit the slots
Got enough music over the headphones on the plane in?

Try your hand at the slot machines or a hand of poker at Casino Del Sol, which is owned by the Pascua Yaqui Nation. Free shuttles every two hours, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Getting to know the soft sciences

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences will have an informative tent set up near Old Main.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., members of SBS will offer information about research projects, faculty and the college's 23 departments.

Discover the Union
Take a tour of the new Student Union Memorial Center. The complex is the largest hotel-free student union in the country.

The union construction is scheduled to be completed around the same time your child graduates ÷ approximately seven years from now.

No, actually construction is slated to be finished by the end of this year. Tours will be given on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at various times. For more information see the booth at Old Main.

Cats fans tour McKale center
Be sure to stop by and see UA's famous student section. Oh, nevermind. But you can check out the place where UA basketball stomps opponents and UA badminton punishes their Pac-10 competitors. To take a tour of the McKale Center and see the new Eddie Lynch Athletic Pavilion, meet outside the McKale gift shop at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. or 2 p.m.


Saturday

Watch foursomes for fun
The Wildcat 2-on-2 Basketball Tournament starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Campus Recreation Center. A special Family Weekend Intramural T-shirt will be given to every participant. Participants must pre-register and pay $13.

Enjoy Tucson's favorite monorail
Actually, it's not a monorail, but it is ride up a picturesque canyon oasis. Tours of the Sabino Canyon will be at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.The price of the tours ranges from $18 to $25. Prices include transportation, park admission and a tram tour.

View work by renowned and budding artists
The School of Art invites you to the Joseph Gross Gallery and the Lionel Rombach Gallery. Work from both students and visiting artists will be displayed from 12 a.m. (NOTE: is this correct? If so, it should say Îmidnight' ö or is it in fact supposed to be Înoon'?) to 5 p.m.

Don't feed the animals
One of the biggest collections of creepy-crawlies, javelinas, snakes, hummingbirds and prairie dogs lives at the Arizona Desert Museum. Meet at Old Main Fountain from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for shuttles, with your walking shoes on. The $11 to $17 charge includes transportation, a snack and a chance to see prairie dogs wrestle.


Sunday

Aim beyond the Milky Way
The Steward Observatory Mirror Lab will be giving free tours at 10 a.m., 11a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The lab is located under the UA stadium and houses the world's largest and most powerful honeycomb telescope mirrors.

Find deals at UofA Bookstore
The bookstore will be having an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be fun activities and great deals on books. If you try to sell any books back they may even give you a few bucks and a coupon to McDonalds.

Go on a historic mission
The San Xavier mission south of Tucson is considered the finest example of mission architecture in the United States. Attend mass, tour the museum, or check out the reclining wooden statue of St. Francis. Meet at the fountain at Old Main between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Cost: $10.
