Someone driving a silver car in the wrong direction on East Speedway Boulevard almost ran into police early Monday morning, reports stated.

The driver of the silver car swerved to miss a car in front of police before nearly colliding with them. The driver then hopped the median and began heading in the right direction, reports stated.

Police saw the car make a left turn on North Tucson Boulevard.

A description of the silver car was given to the Tucson Police Department, who was able to find the car, reports stated.

Police identified the car as the one that had been traveling the wrong way on Speedway. Police were unable to identify the driver of the car because the car's headlights had blinded police, reports stated.


Police found two street signs Monday afternoon in a house on East First Street after a resident had displayed one of the signs in a window, reports stated.

When police arrived, they saw a sign in the window of the house with "Service Vehicles Only" on it. Police recognized the sign belonged to the city, reports stated.

The resident of the house said he had found the sign in a wash.

Police saw that a "Stop When Children in Crosswalk" sign was being used as a coffee table in the house.

The resident told police he had found the coffee table sign in the same wash where he found the other sign, reports stated.

The city did not press charges against the resident.

Both signs were taken to UAPD to be picked up by the city, reports stated.


A UA employee received between four and five hang up calls from the same number between Feb. 23 and Monday, reports stated.

The employee told police every time someone called from that number, the person hung up when the employee answered.

Police told the employee to tell the caller to stop calling and to report any further calls, reports stated.


Someone shot and damaged three windows with a pellet gun at the Colonia de La Paz Residence Hall, 602 N. Highland Ave., sometime between Feb. 27 and Monday, reports stated.

Two of the windows were on a door in the residence hall.

One of the windows on the door had been shot one time with a pellet gun and the other had been shot five times, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


Police found a capsule with an unknown yellow substance inside it in the back of a police car Monday afternoon, while doing a routine car check at UAPD headquarters, 1852 E. First St., reports stated.

The driver of the car was told and the capsule was placed into property, reports stated.


A Coca-Cola Vending machine was damaged around noon on Monday at the Surgery Emergency Medicine building, 1842 E. Elm St., reports stated.

When police arrived, they saw pieces of the vending machine laying on the ground and $1 bills sticking out where the bill receiver had been.

A Coca-Cola employee repaired the machine and got the money, reports stated.

Police don't know if any money was taken from the machine.

Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.


A woman told police on Feb. 20 that a friend's former boyfriend was harassing the woman's friend, a UA student, reports stated.

The ex-boyfriend called the student's aunt and the student's current fiancˇ.

The ex-boyfriend then called the student and said he had told her fiancˇ and her aunt how the student had treated him and what kind of person she was, reports stated.

The ex-boyfriend told the student, "You deserved it. You had it coming."

The woman told police the ex-boyfriend had not threatened the student.

The woman told police the ex-boyfriend was an academic adviser at UA and she believed he had gotten the phone numbers of the student's aunt and fiancˇ by looking through the student's record, reports stated.
