Three juveniles were arrested March 15 around 3 p.m. for smoking marijuana in a wash at East Seventh Street and North Tyndall Avenue, reports stated.

Police smelled marijuana coming from the area and found seven people in the wash.

They searched the men, and three of them had drug paraphernalia. They were placed under arrest.

A baggie containing a green leafy substance was on the ground, but none of the men claimed possession of it and did not say where they got it, reports stated.

Two of the men admitted to smoking marijuana cigarettes in the wash, and the other man said he had smoked before he got to the wash.

The three men were transported to UAPD for questioning and released.

The juveniles told police the other four people were not smoking, and officers told them they were not allowed to return to the wash. Officers sent the men home, reports stated.

The drug paraphernalia was confiscated and placed into evidence to be analyzed.

A man who had been missing from a mental illness treatment facility was seen stumbling south on East Fourth Street around 11:30 p.m. March 14, reports stated.

Police approached the man at Park Student Union, 615 N. Park Ave., and found he was missing from the Cope Behavioral Services complex, 535 E. Drachman St., reports stated.

The man was placed in handcuffs and told he was being returned to COPE. The man became very uncooperative and upset and started yelling profanities, reports stated.

Once the man sat in the backseat of the patrol car, he began banging his head on the Plexiglas. Officers immediately removed him from the vehicle. The man had a cut on his forehead that was bleeding, reports stated.

Tucson Fire Department arrived and put a Band-Aid on the man's forehead, reports stated.

The man became more cooperative and police transported him to COPE, reports stated.

The resident of the room planned to call custodial services to clean up the powder, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.

Two $300 parking meters and the mounting pole they sat on were stolen from 1745 E. Second St. sometime between March 9 and March 12, reports stated.

Officers did not find the missing meters in the area around the plate-sized hole where the pole used to be mounted. None of the surrounding meters seemed to be damaged, reports stated.

It is unknown how much money was in the meters at the time they were stolen, reports stated.

Parking and Transportation Services said that has happened in previous years, and they will prosecute when the suspect is identified, reports stated.

A car's engine caught on fire March 12 on the ramp between the first and second floors of Tyndall Garage, 880 E. Fourth St., around 1:45 p.m., reports stated.

The driver and passenger of the car said they were backing out when the engine compartment "just exploded," reports stated.

The fire was put out using a fire extinguisher provided by an unknown passer-by, reports stated.

Tucson Fire Department was called to confirm the car would not re-ignite.

The driver of the car said he just had the engine worked on but didn't know if the fire was related to that, reports stated.

The owner left the car in the garage until he could arrange for it to be towed, reports stated.

Surrounding vehicles were not damaged, and the driver and passenger said they weren't injured.

The extent of damage to the car is unknown, reports stated.
