Men's golf finishes 2nd in NIT
The Arizona men's golf team made the turn yesterday at Omni Tucson National Golf Resort in great shape ÷ but that's where the comeback took a quick dive for the gopher hole.
The Wildcats were 4-under-par as a team after the first nine holes, scratching and clawing their way toward leader Arizona State before the wheels started to fall off.
The team combined for eight bogeys and a double on the back nine, coming in second behind the Sun Devils, who showed considerable poise down the stretch to win the National Invitational Tournament by two strokes. ASU came into the day leading Arizona by seven.

Olson expects Pac-10 to rebound in fall
Men's basketball head coach Lute Olson said the Pac-10 will be back next year.
"I think, as a league, we'll move back into the top four conferences," Olson said after the Pacific 10 Conference placed just three teams in the NCAA Tournament this season.
Olson said he based much of his forecast on the return of most of the league's top players. Almost 90 percent of the Pac-10's starters from 2003-2004 will be back with their respective squads. He also pointed out that nearly 30 of the 50 starters this season were either freshmen or sophomores.

Stoops testing Scott, Bolden at corner
In an effort to improve the defensive backfield, the Arizona football team is trying out a couple of speedy running backs at cornerback.
Sophomore running back Gainus Scott and redshirt freshman running back Brent Bolden were moved to cornerback yesterday.
"We like those guys and wanted to give those guys an opportunity to help us in the secondary," said UA head coach Mike Stoops.
Bolden was a sprinter in high school, while the fleet-footed Scott is apparently from a part of the family gene pool different from his brother Yusuf, an All-American offensive lineman at the UA in 1998 and current NFL lineman.
