Iguodala's future still undecided

UA men's basketball sophomore forward Andre Iguodala is still unsure whether he will return to the Wildcats' next season ÷ even if his new pair of red and white Nike Air Huarache basketball shoes stay in Tucson.

Iguodala was asked if he's made a decision to declare for the NBA draft or return to the UA squad next fall, following his participation in last night's Lame for a Game event in McKale Center.

"Nah, not yet," said the 6-foot-6 swingman, who took off both his shoes during a late-game timeout and hurled them into crowd, causing a frenzy among the masses of fans trying to get any piece of UA hoops memorabilia they could get their hands on.

Arizona head coach Lute Olson said last week that he hopes to have an answer on his starting small forward's next-season status by Easter, just two days away.

If last night's exhibition contest between the UA men's and women's teams and the UA's wheelchair basketball team was his final game in an Arizona jersey, Iguodala surely didn't disappoint the thousands of fans there.

Checking into the game with 11 minutes left in the first half, Iguodala wasted no time making his mark, throwing down a between-the-legs dunk just a minute later ÷ one of the Wildcats' three allotted "frustration dunks" of the half.

Iguodala and teammate Hassan Adams then turned the first half into a showcase of what made the duo a staple all season long on SportsCenter's top-10 highlight list on ESPN.

After removing his shoes during the game's waning minutes, Iguodala put an exclamation point on the evening by draining a 3-pointer from near half court as time expired, sealing the Wildcats' 85-77 victory over the Wildchairs.

Igoudala's 8.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game were all team-highs in 2003-2004 for the Wildcats, whose season came to a close after a loss to Seton Hall in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Raleigh, N.C., last month. Iguodala finished fourth on the team in scoring at 12.9 points per game.
