UAPD officer should be fired for assault on wife
I was not surprised to read the other day that a UAPD officer was arrested for beating his wife. I was astonished, however, to read that he is still employed with UAPD. If the campus police actually believed in the safety of its students, they would fire Tracey. Police are well known for abusing the rights of those they are supposed to protect. Adding a known violent offender certainly doesn't help the situation.

Fully in tact: Tucson is the best city on Earth
Maybe I'm getting a little sentimental now that graduation's rapidly nearing, but more likely I'm just being the genuine individual I am when I say that Tucson is the best city on Earth.
Now I know what you're thinking: "Sabrina, that's a bald-faced lie, and your sophisticated glasses aren't fooling anybody."
But try putting your excellent points aside for just one moment and listen. I, too, was initially disappointed by Tucson. Its downtown was hardly impressive on the horizon, and its mountains were drab. I'm always appalled when I hear about incidents of racism and sexism occurring in Arizona. I was raised in what I believe is a typical Arizona family, and to discriminate against someone for such a trivial reason was considered absurd and disgusting. In case you're wondering about the April Fools' joke, I was also raised to have a sense of humor.
The idea of affirmative action is appalling, mainly because it is racist. That statement doesn't come from opinion; it comes from a dictionary. Affirmative action differentiates people on the basis of race, and despite your personal opinions on the policy, any reasonable person would have to admit that it is, by definition, racist.

Question: Do you think it was a good idea to get rid of the Īsuicide lane' on East Grant Road?
"Yes, it was responsible to remove the lane. I don't know how many accidents were caused by it, but I've heard of a few."
"Yeah, I think it was right. Nobody ever used it right anyway. They kept trying to make left turns even though nobody was supposed to."
"Grant Road should have a sixth lane, but safety-wise it was a good idea to remove the Īsuicide lane.' It is called a Īsuicide lane' for a reason."
