UA baseball's World Series hopes dashed by Georgia
OMAHA, Neb. - The Arizona baseball team has played out of tough situations for the last three months, but the Wildcats found a spot they couldn't get out of in the form of Georgia pitching.
Arizona was eliminated for the College World Series yesterday at Rosenblatt Stadium with a 3-1 loss to Georgia in front of an estimated crowd of 18,000.
"We're sad to leave," head coach Andy Lopez said. "(Georgia) pitched the lights out. That about says it all."

Andy Lopez to remain in Tucson
A renewed contract last summer and a trip to the College World Series couldn't squash the rumor that Arizona head coach Andy Lopez could be the next head coach at his alma mater, UCLA.
"I've been rumored at the job for eons. They have a pool of five guys and I'm not one of them," Lopez said.
Lopez has been asked about the vacant job ever since UCLA's former head coach said he was retiring, and the questions continued in Omaha as Lopez continued to deny his departure from Tucson.

Basketball summer league tips off at community center
Current and former Wildcat stars square off on the court
With an average of 38.5 points per game, you might say current Arizona basketball player Hassan Adams owns the new Tucson Summer Pro League. However, former Wildcat Corey Williams, who currently serves as League Operator, is the actual owner and founder.
Williams played at McKale from 1992-1996 and was the captain of the team his senior year. After coming back to Tucson each year from Europe, where he plays professionally, and not being able to consistently find games, Williams started the Tucson Summer Pro League presented by Hidden Valley Inn Restaurant and Saloon.
