This summer I was expecting to go back home to recuperate from the long school year. My only ambitions for the summer lay in avoiding mowing my family's massive lawn and catching up on the last few seasons of The Sopranos. However, things don't always go like we plan. Return to Neverland

Earlier this evening I was sitting in the lounge of the dorm I'm confined to for the summer. Someone walked in with a container of yogurt. This inspired someone else to jump up and find his own container to see who could eat it the quickest. I laughed and couldn't help but wonder about the challenger's enthusiasm for yogurt. He had so much fun, even when he almost spit it all back out. It's wonderful to see people enjoying the little things in life. Since he is 19, I wondered if an adult could enjoy that event just as much. [Read article]

Editorial: Straddling the fence

The Arizona state Legislature is full of hot air. In one breath, it promises the students of the state's university system a more diverse, world-wise education, and in the next claims that supplying the incentives needed to ensure that education - namely, same-sex partner benefits for UA faculty and staff - is impossible.

The UA and its counterpart in Tempe are now the only Pac-10 schools not to offer such benefits, and many current and potential faculty members are taking note. [Read article]

Omaha: a World Series-class town

If you are at all like me, upon entering college one of the first things you did was make a checklist of things to do during your time in Tucson.

I took care of the easy stuff first.

Take a trip to Nogales. Check.

Get tickets to a basketball game. Check.

Hit the Buffet at six in the morning. Check.

Travel to Tempe for some sort of ASU/UA game. Check.

Near the bottom of my list were trips to Omaha, when the Wildcats made the College World Series, and any sort of bowl game the football team was in. [Read article]
