Experience the culture of Cuba and celebrate the release of "Cuba in Mind," a new literary anthology, at the Reader's Oasis, 3400 E. Speedway Blvd. FREE.

 

Concert - 9.00 p.m.

The Pharcyde, an L.A.-based alternative rap quartet, rocks the mic at Club Congress, 311 E. Congress St. $18 in advance, $22 the day of the show.

The UA Summer Chorus and Chamber Orchestra pay homage to the musical stylings of Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein at Crowder Hall, 1017 N. Olive St. $12.

Stand-up comic and star of his self-titled ABC sitcom George Lopez hits the stage at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave., on his "Why are you crying" tour. $36-46.

The Zsa-Zsas and Al Perry salute this nation in all its glory at Club Congress, 311 E. Congress St. For more on the show, check out page 24. $6.

Jam Session - 3.00 p.m.

Honor and celebrate our troops overseas with a two-day music festival featuring a Glenn Miller tribute, solo performances and more at the Tucson Community Center, 2540 E. 22nd St. FREE.

Sweet, sweet jazz flows from the sax and guitar of the Wagner/Mitchell Duo as they play from their latest CD, Two's Blues. They'll be serenading at Bookman's, 1930 E. Grant Road. FREE.

Fourth of July event - all day

Concerts, car shows and a reading of the City of Tucson Proclamation by Mayor Walkup are only part of the fun at "Red, White and Tucson" at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave. $4.

 

Golf Tournement - 7.00 p.m.

Hit the links for your all-American celebration. Tournaments wrap up with yet another fireworks show. Call 647-1100 to register for the tourney, at the Del Lago Golf Club, 14155 E. Via Rancho del Lago Road. $40-$45.
