A leak in a pool being used for a play caused some damage in the Marroney Theater, Friday morning.
"We had a small problem with our pool," said Jeremy Rinder, scenery theater specialist.
The pool was being used for the production Metamorphosis.
The water leaked out of the pool and into the basement causing a lot of drywall damage, but this damage is more cosmetic than structural, Rinder said.
Although the exact cause of the leak was unknown, Rinder said he believed some tubes connected to the pool fell out.
The pool was not completely full, and only some of the water leaked out, Rinder said.
The effect this accident will have on the production schedule is not yet known and much depends on what the actual damage turns out to be, Rinder said.
"We don't know what direction we're going," he said.
By Friday afternoon most of the water was removed from the basement, although puddles and water damage on some walls were still visible.
"We spent all morning cleaning and drying and extracting the water," Rinder said.
Rinder took the accident in stride.
"All I can do is laugh, today," he said.
